Ch-ch-ch-changes

In light of the new look of Itzoe.net, I felt a few words were in order not so much as to why it's changed (I've covered that more than once before) but where it's going.

Admittedly, things are pretty barebone right now. But everything that was here before will be back, eventually, plus more. As features are completed and reinstated, they'll "magically" appear, probably without an accompanying post. I never intended this blog to be about this blog, so I'm looking forward to getting back to the "normal" stuff, and I expect these will be my last words on the matter (at least for a while).

While I liked (and still like) the design of the previous version, maintaining it was a nightmare. Adding or changing anything was an exercise in frustration as I tried to shoehorn in something without breaking something else. It was the first site I wrote from the ground up in ASP.NET since moving from classic ASP and it was, if nothing else, an incredible learning experience. In point of fact, I learned what not to do. This new version, while admittedly not as snazzy as the first, is much easier to maintain and work with. But enough of technical details you don't care about.

You may have noticed comics are back, and you may have noticed the Off The Wall site looks the same as the main site. I decided to more fully integrate Off The Wall and (when it's ready) The Good News into Itzoe.net in order to maintain a more consistent feel across the site as a whole. I've also decided to re-vamp the whole concept of Off The Wall, but I'll discuss that more in an Off The Blog posting later.

I'm really exicited about the new directions a lot of this opens up, and I look forward to bringing lots of fun to the table (well, fun for me, anyway). Stay tuned, the best is yet to come!
