Michael Andrew
Blog
You may have notices some changes. For one, if you're reading this then, well, obviously I finally brought the
Michael Andrew site back after far too long. Second, as I
mentioned once before I redesigned the site to integrate into the overall larger
Itzoe.net site as was originally intended.
So the Michael Andrew site has been down for quite some time. There's a long, convoluted story behind that I've already explained
elsewhere, but suffice it to say since you're reading this, things are up and running again.
So the site has a new look. How do you like it so far? There's still some tweaking to do, but it's done for the time being. And it wasn't that I didn't like the old site so much as I wanted something a little leaner and a little cleaner. Frankly the background of the old site made me think of strawberries, and I'm not a huge fan of strawberries. Also, the old color started looking too pink for my tastes, so I wanted to go with something a little deeper and darker.
Having played with Fruity Loops for a bit now, I'm excited to share my first creation, an instrumental I call "Bumble". I'm posting it free of charge, freely distributable, freely shareable, freely... whatever. Free, man. Free.
I just started playing around with
Fruity Loops Studio, which to me is just about the dumbest name any software program can have, but I have to say it's about the coolest thing ever. It reminds me a lot of Cakewalk, which I used to use about fifteen years ago, but much more feature-rich if a bit more bloated.
Having been largely away from music for the past several years, and having moved into our house since then, it was with a bit of excitement and a little trepidation that we were able to get a free piano.
So this is my first posting for the Michael Andrew website. I don't want to say too much yet because things are still under construction, and, to be honest, we just needed a post so we could test things out.
