About
"Watching The Water" was written for an old friend from high school. It's literally about how she used to unwind by going out and sitting under a willow tree on the shores of a lake and listening to her Walkman. The "fa la la" part arose because she'd recently lost her dog, an adorable Scottish terrier named Fala. Also, the "light upon the water" line is a reference to "Candle on the Water" from Pete's Dragon, one of her favorite songs.
