Written for a then-girlfriend when I learned she was moving away. Another improv. I came up with this beat, and I couldn't resist doing this crazy little dance thing. I recorded it with electric snare and bass, but have since preferred playing it acoustic. The lyrics were knocked off in about twenty minutes or so, and I stole the bridge from All You'll Ever Need. I particularly like the "ooh la la" vocals. Very Beatle-ish to me.
Ooh, I need you
Baby, can't you see my tears
How I need you
Baby, don't leave me here
If you promise to love me for another day
You wouldn't hear me say baby please
Please don't let me go
Don't let me go
I still remember
Baby, all the times we shared
I can see your face
Baby, I see you everywhere
I could tell you lies and say you're still with me
But I can't make you see, baby please
Please don't let me go
Don't let me go
Ooh, I look into your eyes
It's the pain that you hide feeling inside
That baby you don't want to go
Ooh, I love you
Baby, can't you hear me say
That I need you
But you're too far away
We used to think that nothing could ever break our hearts
And though it's time to part, baby please
Please don't let me go
Don't let me go
